The introduction of the department of the Homeland security was triggered by the occurrence of the worst terror attack that ever happened in the United States. The government needed to do as much as it could to ensure that it pursued the perpetrators of the heinous act. Homeland security introduced measures that would help the government deal with the elements of terror both locally and internationally. Concerns were raised over the implementation of some of the measures since they called for the American people to give up some of their rights, which was contrary to the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution.
